I was invited to attend a cooking class as a social event by one of my software vendor, what a great venue. I would love to do a team building here. The Chef was organized and friendly. We all enjoyed ourselves and learned some new cooking techniques as well. I would highly recommend this venue for a group event.

Great staff team building experience! Amazing, creative opportunity for even a novice home chef. With four on a team, we created two platings from mystery ingredients. Judged by our peers, teams were ranked on each plating. Points from each event produced the winning team. Meanwhile, the real chefs of AK were cooking up a delightful meal for us to enjoy at the end. So much fun!

I have been on the waiting list to attend a class and finally found one that works for our schedule! These classes sell out quickly, so you will likely need to sign up as soon as the menu is announced. I recommend the newsletter to keep up! Our class was tapas style, which is usually done as a private event but they told us they were experimenting with this style. My husband and I really enjoyed it because it allowed us to go to a station for one dish, enjoy it at our table, and then hop to the next. Each station was very different and I really liked spreading out each experience! All of the ingredients for each dish were pre-prepped or sorted into serving sizes containers. A PDF with the recipe for each dish was provided so that we can try to replicate our favorites at home. The flavors were so good! We tried some things for the first time ever! While this was a date night for us, there were some in attendance in alone, and some in friend groups. Chef Alyssa (a native Charlottean) and her assistant chefs were super helpful, personable, and clearly enjoy what they do for a living! The assistant chefs are all culinary school graduates, several from Johnson & Wales. Its so refreshing to see niche businesses like this flourish in our community. We definitely plan to go back.

My family has been attending for over 3 years and we LOVE this place! From the kid/teen classes & camps, to the perfect date night menus with my husband, or a fun cake decorating class by myself, CAK has us covered! Chef Alyssa & Andrew are the best in the business and have exceptional staff. They bring a wealth of knowledge and are communicative, honest & caring. Pastry Chef Hilary has amazing dessert menus and Chefs Gloria, Britt, JQ, April, Brittany & others are SO helpful and kind - theres never a dumb question with them and Ive asked a few They always take the time to make sure you understand the steps. If I ever had a problem, I know they would handle it, no matter what it is! I deeply appreciate that they prioritize supporting local farms & businesses. Their menus are diverse and Im always learning something new every class. Be sure to bring a to go box for the extra goodies you can bring home!

Chef is GREAT! Well run class on sausage making, but she's got a class for whatever culinary path you want to explore. Super creative, easy to follow, great kitchen, awesome support staff, and where else do you learn from the best AND get fed afterwards? Great for couples, guys/gals night, foodies, first dates - pretty much anyone who's into food would dig this.
