Ink n Ivy

Post tax season jaunt to Charlotte and we headed straight from the airport to the Ink and Ivy. The environment is very hip and looking forward to coming back to see the nightlife scene. They have a great patio as well as plenty of indoor seating surrounded by a wall of of TVs tuned to all sports so you wont miss any big moments. As far as food goes, we went all in on the bevies and complimented that with fried foods - a pairing I would highly recommend. But in all seriousness, our waitress Polina was great - very efficient and ensured drinks and food were delivered timely and as ordered. And our food was quite tasty. The sweet and spicy shrimp was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Looking forward to coming back for the night scene.

My lady and I dropped in for dinner Friday evening (5pm). There were no wait times and seating available. This location is in Uptown Charlotte so be prepared to pay for parking. There is a decent sized lot off the patio area at a rate of $12 for 24 hours. I love the ambience at Ink N Ivy. Nice & clean, well decorated and spacious. Great place for entertaining. They have nice bar area with ample seating and flat screens everywhere. Now the food. We ordered the Spicy Lamb Meatballs as an appetizer. The taste was pretty good but they weren't spicy at all and needed more seasoning. For entrees, we ordered the Blackened Chicken Pasta and Salmon Fresca with a side of Mac N Cheese. Both entrees were delicious but the Mac N Cheese...oooweee! Cheesy, gooey, and creamy goodness with a crispy top. Must have! The staff was nice and friendly. Our waiter did an excellent job. We will return.

This location is prime!! Right by the stadiums and downtown. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and daily specials. Word of caution, don't think about sitting at the bar if you are on the wait list, bartenders will call you out. I bartended for 8 years, so many thoughts, but just be nice about it and offer to cash out for your guests drinks while they wait and assure they will be seated shortly. No need to tell them they can't be helped if they are on the wait list. Over server Taylor was sweet and took good care of us or I would have given less stars. The environment is fun and lots to look at inside.

Ink N Ivy had a very chill vibe. The service was great, food tasty, and the atmosphere/music was on point. I had the goat cheese burger. It was flavor and the goat cheese nice and creamy. The burger itself was a little overcooked, but it was good nonetheless. My daughter had the blackened chicken pasta. That was YUM. Add some crawfish and shrimp and you've got a very good cajun pasta. My drink was good, but I don't particularly like bitters, so I didn't love it, but it kinda tasted like a spiked Creamsicle. We went on Thirsty, so their signature cocktails were only $6. I'm gonna go back on a Tuesday for taco Tuesdays. I was told they they have a dj and salsa and batchata lessons on Taco Tuesday.

Our server, Taylor, was awesome! I also thoroughly enjoyed the charred brussel sprouts. The $4 Sam Adams was perfect and the $5 Tito's was exactly what my girlfriend wanted. The salmon fresca was just okay... The salsa was good but the salmon was very fishy. Also this plate just comes with plain rice and very plain steamed broccoli. If they paired this salmon (fresher salmon) with the sprouts and a seasoned rice it would have been much better. What brought this from 4 stars to 3 stars was the bartender with blue hair. We have no problem with a 40 minute wait when there is an event going on; however, her attitude was very uncalled for. Even on the patio, another guy said he was going to ask her about bar seating but after he heard her response to us he wasn't about to sit at the bar even if it was okay.
