Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse will celebrate Women’s History Month with a Women in Wine Dinner featuring winemaker Sally Johnson of Pride Mountain Vineyards Thursday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. Pride Mountain Vineyards is a 235-acre estate located high above the Mayacamas Mountains bordering Napa & Sonoma Counties. Johnson trained in France and California and received a Master’s degree in winemaking from UC Davis.
Dinner begins with Fontina arancini with roasted pine nuts and sun-dried tomato pesto, Yellowfin tuna Niçoise with soft cooked quail egg, micro fines herbs and a Dijon aioli, and prosciutto-Black Mission fig crostini with whipped honey Ricotta and lavender accompanied by Pride Mountain Vineyards Chardonnay Napa Valley 2016. The second course is a day boat sea scallop crudo with trout caviar, Yuzu olive oil and micro tangerine lace served with Pride Mountain Vineyards Viognier Sonoma County 2017. That will be followed by black truffle gnocchi with Parmesan cream and cured Peking duck breast with seared Foie Gras dust and micro basil, complemented by Pride Mountain Vineyards Merlot Napa County 2016. For the main course, Del Frisco’s is serving an Australian Wagyu striploin with petite veggie crudité and Shiitake demi-glace with Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa/Sonoma County 2015 and Pride Mountain Vineyards “Reserve” Cabernet Sauvignon Napa/Sonoma County 2015. Dessert features grilled pineapple and flambé banana with white pepper ice cream, toasted coconut and roasted butter cake crumbles served with Pride Mountain Vineyards Mistelle De Viognier Sonoma County NV.
