Waterbean Coffee - Uptown
Amanda Bridge
Highly recommend this coffee joint! The refreshing atmosphere of this cafe keeps me coming back majority of my mornings in uptown, Charlotte. The natural lighting, scattered plants, and iced dirty chai lattes turn my remote work into something I look forward to instead of dread. The staff is here is super friendly and efficient at crafting their drinks in a timely manner. This is the one place in the city where I walk in and feel that time slows down and the "hustle culture" diminishes.

Reminiscent of the coffee houses of the 90s, Waterbean is a relaxing spot nestled in Uptown between Romare Bearden Park and what I call the classier section of Tryon St. Comfy leather couches on rugs, long church pews, and stone countertops are just a few of the cool aesthetics. Great coffee and tea selections, a good sandwich menu , and fresh-baked goodies make it great place for pit stops or longer work stays. Note: The Dutch inversion method of cold brewing makes for a fun visual and a really smooth texture. Highly recommended!

I stepped out for a coffee break to the park and did not choose Starbucks. Very sad coffee and it wasnt even mixed well. I got chunks of powder in my mouth as I sipped. Totally disappointing. I chose a flavour, but this beverage was sweeter than sugar.

Goddam! Flavor extraction accomplished. They do justice to the life of the bean that was sacrificed in the roasting process. The baristas were not knowledgeable about the exact makeup of the water that was sourced for the brew, but otherwise they were quite friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this establishment to any bean heads passing through. I did not sample a pour over as they seem to be quite busy for the amount of staff available.
