Tacos el Nevado - East Charlotte
Matt Quinn
We went for dinner at 5:15pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant (which we prefer). The prices are great and the serving size is perfect. I would recommend 4/5 tacos if you are hungry. The only hiccup was that my tacos came out much later than the other food. The chicken on the quesadilla was seasoned to perfection and the pork taco was outstanding. We will be going back.

I lived in Charlotte 10 years and these were some of the best tacos I ever had!! Super filling, authentic street like tacos. Not Tex max. They also have aqua fresca

Great Mexican restaurant. The best Mexican restaurant that I have tried in the Charlotte area so far. Great customer service and very fresh food and veggies. The Gouc was definitely the highlight as it was very very good. Great and will definitely visit again

Delicious street tacos. But I ate them up before I realized that I didn't take a picture of the food. (Update- took a few Taco pics on a subsequent visit, and shared them at the bottom).I picked it up and took it back to my hotel. Next time I'll eat there, and get a margarita too! Update- YUM. I love it. I've been here twice. The LOCALS love it. Always a great sign! Taco pics at the end of this group of photos. This was during my overnight in Charlotte, NC (I am a flight attendant).

I found this spot on Google and decided to try it because they advertised one of my favorites!! The Birria! I went right at the start of the lunch rush.... Which wasnt so bad...at first. As I walked in I noticed the beautiful interior and the lively atmosphere. I ordered 3 birrias waited about 37 minutes(was quoted 10-15 mins) and the young man that was helping me seemed to be a bit overwhelmed. Once I got my order I had to wait about 17 mins for the chips and salsa(whomever bagged it forgot that) he was very nice just a bit flustered. Once I got home and inspected my meal I noticed the packaging wasn't much as the photos will show. The food was super soggy. Came in a plate covered in aluminum foil, Not crispy at all. The chips were the usual nacho chips. They gave 4 different types of salsa. The meat was tasty and the consume could have been better..it was some thick stuff at the bottom of the cup maybe the ingredients had settled?? All in all I may go back to try a few other dishes to be more rounded.. but I think I will try a different spot for birrias and definitely don't go at 12 during lunch rush. I think I was just super hungry. It hit the spot but not a favorite.
