if you're in the mood for some finger-licking good BBQ, look no further than Sweet Lew's in North Carolina. I visited this joint with the family and tried a variety of dishes, including fish, wings, chopped pork, brisket, sausage, and ribs. The brisket had the perfect amount of smokiness. The sausage had just the right amount of spice, and the fish was crispy and delicious. Unfortunately, the chopped pork was somewhat dry and the wings, though flavorful, still were bloody around the joints. The ribs were fantastic, although I personally would have preferred them to be smothered in sauce. That being said, they were still fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. You do have the option of various sauces on the side to pair with your proteins. The sides were also a hit, particularly the slaw, baked beans, and collard greens. The sweet onion hush puppies were also a hit. And the staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Overall, I recommend trying Sweet Lew's BBQ when in the area.

I got the sampler which consisted of pork, ribs and brisket. Was very tasty and so much food. Enough for two people for sure. I ended up with leftovers. The sweet tea was exactly what southern tea is supposed to be, good, refreshing and sweet. I deducted one star because the Mac seemed extremely salty to me. I couldnt finish it. But I would try again, maybe just this batch the cook had a heavy hand with the salt. But the cucumber and onion melody was delish. Very fresh and a great compliment to the smoked meats. And wings were $2 today so I decided to get some to go to try them. I tried one before I left and they were piping off fresh off the smoker. Great flavor

First, the meat is nicely smoked and tender. Great for the true lover of the art of slow smoked meats. Mac&cheese and is a casserole style but not the traditional consistency and lacks flavor. The baked beans aren't sweet or savory and left me ambivalent like the flavor. All four sauces are the traditional North Carolina vinegar base. Don't expect a sweet sauce offering. Very casual dining; larger sitting area outside. Great if you favor mild flavors.

Great setup with better food. In town from Memphis, and this place did not disappoint. We tried it all and felt the love today. Meats were the highlights although the sides are excellent and would be worth coming in for a veggie plate alone. Thanks for showing a couple of Memphis guys around the smoker too. I cant wait to get back the next time Im in town.

If you are looking for true craft Carolina BBQ this IS your place!! Be sure to order the buffet plate so you get a good portion of their brisket, pork, turkey, ribs and house made sausage. The brisket, turkey and sausage were some of the best I have ever had, and I am super critical of my BBQ. The buffet plate comes with two sides and a dessert. Both the banana pudding and the dirt pie are out of this world! Super nice people who are passionate about what they are doing. Get there early!
