First: this place is take out only. Dont let that deter you though! I got the grilled chicken pita with rice and gravy. I walked in and it was ready in about 6 minutes. Food was great! Im very pleased with the flavor and the quickness. Plus, it was so hot (temperature) that I had to wait for it to cool off to eat, which is just fine. Plenty of time to get back to the office/place and still have a great and fresh meal. Will return, very pleased.

Hands down the best "home style" food I have ever had in my life!!!! Collards are super tender and mashed potatoes are absolutely delicious!!! I had the meatloaf special and was not disappointed. Super friendly staff makes you feel right at home. This is a Charlotte staple and must try!!!!

Delicious! Ordered again tonight just to see if last night was a fluke. Both nights the food has been just phenomenal. Both times I've gotten the Big John burger with bacon, and a cucumber tomato marinated salad, both of which are just fantastic. I could eat these cucumbers and tomatoes all day. And the burger is so good! I had it delivered and the bun wasn't soggy or anything. The first time I had hushpuppies and the second time I got chili cheese fries. Both are great, although the hush puppies are definitely my favorite. Will definitely be making this one of my favorite places to frequent.

I had the Grilled chicken cordon blue platter with mashed potato and mac-n-cheese. The food was fresh and hot when I picked it up. Great value for what we got and the place and kitchen looked clean, I could see into the kitchen from where I paid. Cute little place. Give it a chance...yelp reviews are also Great!!
