Nana's Soul Food Kitchen

Baby, this soul food is on point! The curry chicken paired with stuffing collards and mac&cheese with a cornbread muffin, is savory and delicious. My friend had baked chicken, cabbage yams and cornbread. We topped off dinner with a shared slice of strawberry cake. So good I wanted more but my stomach said no more. The service was also very good. Very polite staff. I will be back!

The smothered pork chops, fried chicken, and smothered chicken were all delicious! The candied yams and macaroni werent bad but didnt taste homemade. I was expecting homemade but it was my first time so I was unsure if it would be or not. Our only dislikes were the deserts. The crust on the sweet potato pie didnt taste cooked and cake was very dense. The texture of the cake was spongy and very thick and the it was an inadequate frosting and filling to cake ratio. The layers cut in halves or thirds might remedy this. The cake was not a soft and moist texture like we were expecting. But again, it was our first time trying and we were unsure of what to expect. We will be back to try more soon.

This place is delicious especially when its FRESH!! Thats a big factor on depending if your meal with be a hit or miss here but overall I enjoy this place. I didnt give 5 stars because of some small reasons. The greens are very very sweet Im not big on sweet sugary food but it was to sweet for me to even eat. The cornbread is good even though its super heavy, sweet and taste like cake. Chicken and yams is always good and flavorful !!! The deserts are over priced for what you get so I dont recommend them. Overall this place is still decent so I recommend you trying it for yourself!

Incredible. There's not much more to it. We're just visiting Charlotte for a short while and weren't sure what to eat for dinner when we stumbled across this place. My family is from New Orleans and we looooove us some soul food. This place was straight fire. We got the jerk chicken wings, bbq ribs, fried catfish, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, yams, black eyes peas, cornbread, and peach cobbler (a large combo with 2 meats and 2 sides + a small combo with 1 meat and 2 sides (both combos came with cornbread)). Everything was absolutely divine. The flavor was incredible, the portion sizes were hearty, and the service was quick, professional, and friendly. We paid about $44 for everything and were not disappointed at all. We will definitely be coming back, this place is phenomenal. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in.

Here visiting from Miami and when I tell yall this food was BANGIN.. BABY.. Nana Morrisons Soul Food was absolutely delicious . The restaurant was clean and welcoming. We told the staff (I believe it was Mike) that it was our first time visiting and he kindly walked us through every item on the menu. The variety was amazing, not to mention all the desserts offered. Needless to say, my family and I all got large plates. Oh, and the drinks . That sweet tea and fruit punch . My family and I felt right at home (we ate, we laughed, we stayed till they located the doors). The staff was polite and attentive. Even gave us advise on the night life. All on all, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming to visit this mom and pop restaurant. The food and customer service was on point.
