As Charlotte enters cooler days, we’re seeing a slow but steady stream of new openings. Keep these new businesses in mind as you’re out and about staying safe and supporting local.

Dee’s Vegan To Go
Area: Revolution Park
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; Closed Sunday.
Since 2016, Denise Hairston has been selling vegan dishes and desserts at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market. Now she’s opened a brick-and-mortar. On the menu you’ll find items like Creamy Mac and Cheeze, Crispy Fried Chix Tenders, BBQ Tofu Sandwich and Sweet Potato Spice Cake. You won’t even miss the meat or dairy.
Farm Haus
Area: Indian Land, SC
Hours: Daily, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Looking for a restaurant, beer garden and butcher shop all in one? Hop on over to Farm Haus in Indian Land. They have 5,000 square feet of outdoor space for dining and hanging out and a menu of homemade sausages, burgers, sandwiches and sides.
Free Range Brewing
Area: Camp North End
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, noon-10 p.m.; Sunday, noon-8 p.m.
Camp North End’s newest tenant is Free Range Brewing’s second taproom. Go enjoy a local beer while snacking on dishes from their neighbors, Leah & Louise. Head out back for covered patio seating with a nice skyline view.
Plant Joy
Area: Camp North End
Hours: Tuesday-Wednesday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Closed Sunday-Monday.
Julia Simon of Nourish Charlotte will open a vegan food stall at Camp North End later this month. Swing by to admire the mural by Grace Stott and grab a plant-based bite to eat. The stall will also serve vegan desserts by Move That Dough Baking Co.
Protagonist Beer Co.
Neighborhood: Lower South End
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-midnight; Sunday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
The former Broken Spoke and Great Wagon Distillery building is now home to Protagonist’s second location. The huge space has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating plus a full bar and food menu. Personally, we’ve got our eye on a pint of beer and a large slice of pizza.
Superica
Area: Strawberry Hill
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4:30-10 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m.-3p.m. and 4:30-11 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
Charlotte’s second and much-anticipated Superica is open in Strawberry Hill. This Tex Mex spot from Atlanta is known for fresh cocktails and vibrant food. They’ll start with dinner during the week plus lunch on Friday and brunch on the weekends (where you’ll find a larger-than-life and delicious Hot Cake plus Huevos Rancheros and Tamales and Eggs).

District 57
Neighborhood: West Charlotte
Hours: Sunday-Monday, 1-10p.m.; Tuesday-Wednesday, Closed; Thursday, 1-10p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 1-11p.m.
This entertainment complex is one part escape room, one part arcade and one part bar. District 57 is a post-apocalyptic adventure with a 30-room course called the "Grid" that will challenge your team both physically and mentally. Refuel with items from their menu featuring pizza, paninis and poutine. Don't forget to stay hydrated with beer and wine from the self-serve tap wall.
Slingshot Social Game Club
Neighborhood: South End
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday, 5-11 p.m.; Friday, 4-11 p.m.; Saturday, 1-11 p.m.; Sunday, 1-10 p.m.; Closed Monday.
South End’s newest facility of fun is open with capacity restrictions. Still, guests can enjoy activities like duckpin bowling, skee ball, arcade games and basketball hoops. The full bar and 48 taps are paired with a pub-style menu of wings, flatbreads and burgers.
