Eat & Drink
Eggroll Company
Neighborhood: Camp North End
Good things come bundled up and deep fried! This food truck-turned-food stall is now open at Camp North End. Get your fill of all kinds of egg rolls, from chicken bacon ranch to pizza, by ordering in person or online for pickup.
Elsie’s
Area: Rock Hill, S.C.
Kounter in downtown Rock Hill now has a secret sister in the form of Elsie’s, a to-go charcuterie shop by day and speakeasy by night. Guests visiting for drinks at night will need the password, which can be found on Facebook or Instagram. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Gravity Sourdough Pizza Co.
Neighborhood: Camp North End
You may have enjoyed this pizza at Aurora Star Lit Cinema events at Camp North End, and now you’ll find it at a newly opened restaurant. Owners Alex and Amanda use a sourdough starter from the late 19th century to make their wood-fired pizza pies. Come 2025, they’ll offer additional menu items like shareables and sandwiches.
Qahwah House
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
Sip and stay at Charlotte’s newest Yemeni coffee house. Coffee is imported from Yemen and roasted in house, and the pastry case is filled with Yemeni desserts. Night owls will be pleased to know this spot is open until 11 p.m., Sunday-Thursday, and 1 a.m., Friday-Saturday.
Gotcha Matcha
Neighborhood: Uptown
After popping up all over town, this matcha café now has a permanent home on South Tryon Street. You can pick from a variety of matcha lattes, a full espresso bar and several sweet treats, like ube cinnamon rolls.
King of Fire Pizza
Neighborhood: Uptown
This local pizza company has added a brick-and-mortar to its already impressive lineup of seven food trucks. In addition to 10-inch pizzas, guests can order salads, stromboli and dessert. The trucks are still very active around town and can be booked for private events.
Marina’s Tapas
Neighborhood: Optimist Park
The newest food stall open at Optimist Hall serves up Spanish tapas from the same group as local restaurant Customshop. The dishes, like croquetas and calamares fritos, are crafted from recipes passed down through chef-owner Andres Kaifer’s family.
Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen
Neighborhood: Ballantyne
Say hello to the city’s third Rooster’s location, which seats 300 people across its indoor and outdoor dining space and even has a private room. The restaurant, a welcome addition to The Bowl at Ballantyne, offers seasonally inspired dishes including pizza, salads and the very popular wood-fired rotisserie chicken.
