Online Workout Classes Featuring Top Instructors
While we can’t visit our favorite Charlotte workout studios, there are still ways to break a sweat from home.

Forget the “freshman 15,” we are in the midst of “quarantine 15.” Snacks are readily available and the most exciting events in our lives right now are meal times, so it’s no wonder our leggings and sweatpants are fitting a little more snug. While we can’t visit our favorite Charlotte studios, so many incredible instructors are paving a way for us to still interact with our fitness communities and break a sweat from the safety of our own homes. Whether it is streaming classes online or via social media, be sure to check out these options next time you need a break from taking an unnecessary trip to the refrigerator.
Yoga
Live stream a class from Yoga One to help you stay connected to your practice right at home. Use your membership to access them for free or drop in for just $10. Class options include: Power Flow, Meditation, Power Express, Power Fusion, Slow Flow Beats and Long Slow Deep Sweat. Classes are all live between 6 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., depending on the day. Tune into Sweat Method Instagram for free, featuring live yoga practices at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 and 10 a.m. on the weekends. These music-inspired classes are a great guide for everyone, beginner to official yogi.
Khali Yoga Center is offering free classes - donations encouraged but not required - led by their amazing instructors, available online for streaming. Options include but are not limited to: 2 Minute Breathing Meditation, Grounding Into Your Strength, Deep Stretch Yoga, Yoga for Spinal Mobility and Sunrise Yoga. View online classes here.
Chakti Yoga goes virtual! Join Lauren McAbee and her tribe for classes via Zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. Practice is just $10 for an energetic, empowered flow of yoga featuring conscious and free movement from Kundalini foundations to HIIT. Pilates
Known as “the most effective Hi-Lo 50 minute full body workout in the 704,” CORE704 is taking their programming and instructors online with free recorded workouts ranging from Cardio Dance with Coach Rachel to 17 Minute CoreFusion Trial with Coach Kate and Jamie. Plus, they’re running an “April Quarantine Challenge” that consists of three weeks of classes like CoreHIIT and CoreFusion for only $30.
Take a live class via Zoom with Hilliard Studio Method. Participants can use their regular, in-studio class package or purchase a special Single Class for $20 to enjoy “The Method,” a program that they preach sculpts and tones your entire body. View online classes here.
In addition to Pure Barre On Demand, Pure Barre Charlotte is offering at least one class per day to all of their current members. The classes can be accessed via their Facebook group and while they are live, the videos will also be available for 24 hours if members aren’t able to tune in at the class time. Strength / HIIT
This power couple is taking workouts to the next level with their Strength & Conditioning - Lower Focus, Strength & Conditioning - Upper Focus, Total Body Strength & Conditioning, Total Body Barre Fusion, Arms & Core Barre Fusion, Lower Body Barre Fusion, and Personal Training offerings. Class times vary and all classes are donation based, meaning participants are encouraged to contribute what works for them during this time. View online classes here.
Barry’s has gone virtual! Join some of your favorite Charlotte - Chelsea Cox, Cole Goddard, Erica Rossi, James Gulley, and Shane Lucas - as instructors across the country will be leading a series of streaming Barry’s At-Home group classes across Eastern, Central, and Pacific time zones. They are offering four types of classes: bodyweight, bands (with our Band Together Fit Kit), weights, and a few traditional Barry’s treadmill & weights classes. East/Central/West credits can be used to book in all regions, and you can use a current class package or membership as well. Once you sign-up, they will e-mail you a unique link 20 minutes before class starts. More classes, more variety, more Barry’s. Check out the class schedule found here.
Virtual and live stream classes are now available from Charlotte’s strength-based HIIT fitness crew, Hustle House Fitness. Three words: virtual training membership. Experience MADabolic’s carefully-programmed workouts complimented by tactful and realistic nutrition guidance for $45 a week. Examples of this structure and purpose-driven programming include explosive power, strength and stability, primal endurance, athletic movement and agility, power and speed, and heavy loads and long distances. Running
Jen, aka a top CLT run coach, is the person you want in your corner cheering for you at your next race, so it’s only fitting she has created strength training programs specifically targeted at runners (plus walkers and cyclists). With programs ranging from $10 to $100, Jen uses Zoom and Facebook for her group classes, personal and small group training, and monthly programming. View online classes here.
Get your run on with Tread Happy! Their team is offering three curated playlists with signature tread happy coaching and drills for $30 per week to inspire runners to recreate the studio experience on the roads or on a treadmill. Options include a run-specific three class pack with two tempo and one distance run or a run + train three class pack with two hustle and one tempo programs.
Dance
Fit Atelier has not just one, but two types of dance classes available for streaming: The Beat and Ballet Fit Theory. While The Beat is high intensity dance cardio for 45 minutes, Ballet Fit Theory combines cardio, target mat work and strength training sequences based on the foundation of ballet. The first two weeks of Fit Atelier streaming are free and it’s only $14.99 a month after that, so get those dancing shoes ready.
The Jam CLT’s mission is to promote confidence, health and a sense of community through their cutting-edge, inclusive dance classes and needless to say, this has not changed now that they’re virtual. Participants include a wide range of ages and fitness-levels so all are welcome to participate in the fun, free Facebook Live classes.
Even though the NC Dance District location is closed, the virtual studio stays open. Live stream industry-style hip hop dance classes are on Instagram for free or you can choose to rent online classes for just $5 until Wednesday, April 22.

Join Tara Kimbell of Charlotte Athletic Club every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 a.m. for live, free workouts on Instagram. Every workout is different, some are more strength focused while others have more cardio, but one thing they have in common is they are catered to all.
